2023 Luis Perez La Escribana Blanco VdT Cadiz, 750ml

La Escribana is a fresh, unfortified white wine made from Palomino Fino grapes grown on Cerro de Obispo—a southeast-facing hill in the historic Macharnudo area that's been farmed since the 1400s. The grapes are picked in two rounds: the first harvest includes slightly greener grapes, which give the wine a zesty lift and hints of citrus peel. On the palate, it’s complex and savory, with notes of dried fruit and a long, refreshing finish. It’s aged in old sherry barrels under a light layer of flor, which adds a touch of salty, umami character.
