2024 Weiser-Künstler Riesling Ellergrub Grand Cru Dry, 750ml

A mere 100 yards from Gaispfad and everything and nothing changes. Here the soil changes from red, iron flecked slate in Gaispfad to pure, hard grey/blue slate. The wines from Ellergrub thus always tend to the more ethereal: anise, lavender, blueberry, rainwater... All the wines have this lightness, this expansiveness...  there is an acid, a linear quality to the wines, yet they are not fine... they are ethereal and expansive, almost non-tangible... the feeling is not soft in the least - it is a room with no edges, a corner with no crease? -vB
