2024 Wasenhaus Spatburgunder Kalk, 750ml

This Pinot noir is a blend from multiple plots but all on limestone soil, situated in the Markgraeflerland - the counterpart to Vulkan. A major part of the vines is above 40 years and the fruit was fermented as 40% whole cluster in an open top fermenter for 18 days. Ageing during 16 months in mainly used barrels. Where the Vulkan can have more opulent nose, this is always cooler, brisker, more taut. -vB
