2024 Wasenhaus Spatburgunder Hohlen, 750ml
A Pinot Noir on very shallow and poor limestone clay soil, grown on the Zunzinger Rosenberg with a southwest exposure. This vineyard consists of mainly German clones with different age and origins, half of the plot is from Pinot vines from the 1960s in a quite dense planting. Fermentation with 90% whole cluster, in the beginning as a carbonic maceration and afterwards in a classic open vat fermentation with some punchdowns. Aged in mainly used French oak barrels for 16 months. On the more elegant side of Pinot - purple fruited, very brisk and toothsome structure. -vB
