2022 Peter Lauer Riesling No. 17 Neuenberg, 750ml

Like the "Unterstenberg," this year’s "Neuenberg" leans close to dry and is one of Florian’s most intriguing wines. Sourced from a special parcel in the Grand Cru Kupp, it gets both the cool morning sun and the warmer afternoon light. Sitting low on the slope, it often catches lingering mist or fog, and sometimes a hint of early botrytis, which Florian allows to stay, adding a touch of exotic richness.  

A wine with a polished, almost glycerin-like texture, balanced by a deep mineral core. It’s a stunning showcase of what Lauer—and Riesling—can achieve, and one of his rarest bottlings.
