2016 Tenute Sella Lessona, 750ml

Lessona is one of Alto Piemonte's oldest wine regions, a tiny pocket north of the Langhe where Nebbiolo thrives in sandy, mineral-rich glacial soils. The wines here are known for being incredibly elegant, perfumed, and graceful. Tenuta Sella has been farming these hills for generations, making them one of the area's true historic producers, long before Alto Piemonte found its way back into the spotlight.

The 2016 is hitting a beautiful place right now. It still has plenty of structure to age, but it's already showing the finesse and transparency that make Lessona so special. If you're a Barolo fan, think of this as its lighter, more lifted northern cousin.
