Pastis is a blend of 65 plants and spices, with anise leading the way. Originally made by families with local plants, it was infused in alcohol and mixed with water to create a refreshing drink. On the nose, the bold anise gives way to herbal notes and exotic spices like cardamom, melegueta pepper, and Tonka bean. The taste is powerful and elegant, with a complex, spicy finish. Perfect as an aperitif, just add six parts cold water to one part Pastis!
