2023 Radikon 'Pop' Vino Rosso, 750ml
Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon. Just a few kilometers from their home vineyards in Oslavia, Friuli, Italy, Radikon now cultivates and owns vines across the border in Brda, Slovenia. While a legal boundary exists, the people on both sides share a deep connection—through history, language, gastronomy, culture, and winemaking traditions. To celebrate this unity, Ivana Radikon (youngest sister of Sasa, daughter of Stanko) has named her debut wines "POP," evoking the idea of something both "popular" and "of the people"—a spirit unbound by borders.
The organically farmed Merlot and Cabernet are hand-harvested, destemmed, and co-fermented spontaneously, without sulfur or temperature control. The wine matures for 10 months in stainless steel with occasional rackings before being bottled unfiltered, with only a minimal addition of sulfur. The 2023 vintage marks the first release of this limited-production wine.
